Dr. Peter C. Evans, new VP, Strategic Analysis and Trends

Dr. Peter C. Evans joined the CGE today as Vice President of Strategic Analysis and Trends. He will be responsible for the Center’s research agenda and global academic partnerships. Christopher Caine, President, said “We are extremely fortunate to have Peter join the Center. He brings years of strategic research expertise, a keen intellect, and a global perspective. We know he will make a valuable contribution to the work of the Center and its key stakeholders.”

Prior to joining the CGE, Evans was Director, Global Strategy and Analytics at GE where he worked on tracking and analyzing megatrends, shocks and constraints that shape the global strategic business environment. Before moving to the GE’s corporate strategy team, Dr. Evans led GE Energy’s Global Strategy and Planning team for five years, where he oversaw the Fuels, Policy, Carbon and Strategic Workforce Planning Centers of Excellence.

He also worked with Daniel Yergin, a Pulitzer Prize-winning American author, speaker, and economic researcher at Cambridge Energy Research Associates (CERA) where Evans was Director, Global Oil, and Research Director of the Global Energy Forum.

Peter Evans is known for his leading edge work in the areas of strategic energy and industrial market trends. His many articles and policy monographs include: The Industrial Internet: Pushing the Boundaries of Minds and Machines (General Electric, 2012) Japan: Bracing for an Uncertain Energy Future (Brookings Institution, 2006), Liberalizing Global Trade in Energy Services (AEI Press, 2002), and “International Conflict and Cooperation in Government Export Financing” (Institute for International Economics, 2001).

Evans received his PhD from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and is a Board Member of the National Association for Business Economics.
